We are delighted to welcome our newest Project Research intern to the Fairview team, Alaska Mason. Find out more about Alaska below:
How do you explain your role to your friends and family?
I tell them that I do project research which includes online research and contacting architects for updates on construction projects. Each project is different so there is a lot of variety in the role.
Did your education count towards this internship?
Yes, not so much my day to day classes but I took extra courses during grades 11 and 12 that really helped in order to know the basics coming into this job.
What’s the best mistake you have ever made?
I can’t really think of one mistake in particular, I have made many, but one thing I will say is when I make mistakes I try not to dwell on them for too long and instead see how I can improve or make sure that I don’t make the same mistake twice.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I’ve always wanted to be involved in a job that included interior design. I used to spend countless hours on house design websites just for fun.
What’s your favorite food?
I’m usually willing to try anything once. My favorite would be just a proper Sunday roast dinner or a nice steak meal.
Are you Sunrise, Daytime, Twilight or Nighttime?
I would say I’m a Sunrise person.
What skill or talent would you like to have?
I would like to be musically talented as I think it would be therapeutic.
Which famous living person would you like to have over for dinner and why?
This was hard to choose one. I think I would like to have Michelle Obama. She is someone who I think uses her platform for good by getting involved with multiple charities and organization that help many causes like Be the Change, Healthy Child Healthy World, PeacePlayer International and so many more. I also wouldn’t mind asking her about her time as the First Lady.
